I guess this is Banksy’s way of Raising Awareness. I especially like the third picture which is a scene at Disneyland from “exit through the gift-shop.”
Western culture often promotes escapism, : Take a Vacation, go see a movie, go shopping, listen to music, all of these are a form of escape from reality, whether it’s personal or common and shared.
So While we enjoy ourselves today and take our freedom for granted, we must remember that there are innocent people in Quantanamo, hoping to one day be able to escape their harsh reality. A reality caused in part by our escapism.
